When it comes to good old fashioned home cooking, nothing beats a meal made in a sturdy roaster – it’s the easy way to make a hearty one-dish meal that will satisfy even the most robust of appetites. Roasters are made of many different materials including cast iron, enamel clad cast iron, metal, enamel clad base metal, ceramic, glass and aluminum; some feature a non-stick finish while others merely have a highly glazed interior designed to repel baked on foods. Most roasting pans can be used with or without a lid depending on the type of food or meal you are preparing.
With a good quality roasting pan you can do everything from braise meats to roast vegetables, poultry or even fish and with some clever use of aluminum foil you can both line the roasting pan to keep it cleaner or tent it to trap and retain moisture. Most roasting pans are designed for use in the oven and should not be used on a stove top; some pans feature a gravy tray which is simply a recessed area designed to trap fats and juices or other liquids. A savvy cook can make gravy directly in the roasting pan simply by using these delicious juices and adding some flour or a roux.
Roasting pans are very similar to casseroles although they tend to be larger in size and more often made of metal whereas a casserole is most commonly made of ceramic or glass. Both types of pans can generally go from oven to refrigerator but it is a good idea to let the pan and the food reach room temperature before you place it in the oven or refrigerator.
So this weekend I decided to paint my finger nails. Whoa! As I have said from my previous post about my black manicure. I am not a manicure person. The reason I don’t like them on my finger nails, is because it irritates me when they chip which is always in two days. But occasionally, when I can find a very good price on nail polish, I do them just to play with the new nail polish. So while at Walgreens the other week, I found this hazard 952 nail polish from sinful colors.
This color is gorgeous and perfect for spring or summer. It is like coral pink color or peachy orange, and it’s very flattering on all skin tones. For $1.99 it is a steal! I cannot wait to put these on my toes.

Thankfully, the rain stopped. After what seem like an endless shower all weekend long. So, this weekend has been kind of indoorsy type of weekend for us. A good excuse to check out the newly opened comic shop, and watched the new movie, Iron Man 3. And just when I thought, I have gotten better with my allergies. I am gotten worst! Ugh. I supposed to visit the doctor last week, but told the hubs I am feeling better. Well, I guess this time I have no excused.
